Rayforge 1.12 is here, and it is a big one: 277 commits across 736 files. The headline is native Ruida support, but this cycle also reworked how you move and aim the laser head, added machine notes, network cameras, per-step power modes, and a new way to inject custom machine code.
A while back I ran a vote asking where I should focus next. You spoke clearly: sketcher improvements came out on top, CNC second, and a better 3D preview third.
This cycle delivered the sketcher work you asked for -- and I went ahead and built the better preview too, even though it wasn't the runner-up. (CNC folks: you're on deck.)
Rayforge 1.8 is here! This release completes the Rust geometry pipeline migration, adds full LightBurn file format import, new device profiles, a simple GRBL serial driver, and significant performance improvements across the board.
Rayforge 1.8 beta brings a Rust-powered geometry pipeline, a completely redesigned Ops data structure, raster and image processing ported to Rust, a new simple GRBL serial driver, and new device profiles.
Rayforge 1.7 brings CO2 and fiber laser support, a Ruida driver, an experimental OctoPrint driver, a configuration wizard for GRBL devices, job sanity checks, a manual laser control dock, parametric text templates, and 15 new device profiles.
Rayforge 1.7 beta 2 brings a new safety net for your jobs, profiles for ten more popular laser cutters, and a significantly improved layer interaction experience.
Rayforge 1.7 beta expands hardware support to CO2 and fiber lasers, adds an experimental OctoPrint driver, brings template expressions to the sketcher text tool, and improves image processing accuracy across the board.
Rayforge 1.6 brings a complete rotary axis overhaul, a new device profile system, a redesigned layer system with per-layer WCS, and a Print and Cut addon for aligning laser cuts with printed material.
Rayforge 1.5 adds a full 3D job simulator with playback controls, native cubic bezier curve support (G5), no-go zones with collision checking, and significant performance and memory improvements.
Rayforge 1.4 adds rotary axis support for cylindrical workpieces, direct vector import for PDF files with layers, a guided camera calibration wizard, and an improved sketcher with ellipse tools and smarter snapping.
